Distorted Persuasion
our love was-shaped
like the rhythm of wind
wild and carefree
unleashed music
…bluesy kind of feel
the sky bleeds now
leaving an imprint
in distance we put
between memories
my voice seems broken,
hidden in a time-line
of confused circles
echoes emerge, bouncing
from the same ole' same ole'
…a hollow kind of sound
too much space makes
me uncomfortable
living in blinks of second
thoughts
beneath smooth,
lies thousands upon thousands
of rough drafts containing
… I'm sorry
written at leisure between
make up sex and cuddle time,
while smoking cigarettes
…shaping [us] back into [whole]
watching love burn holes
in both of our dreams
knowing the real attraction
was to our distorted persuasion
of lust for each other
