Between eyelid and iris
In a leap of faith
…on certain days of the week
my words sleep between eyelid and iris
cut me open
read the headline of my poetry
attached to umbilical cord
…life sustaining second chances
stepping into balance
warm breath pours over me
standing in places and times
…dandelions blow in the wind
beyond the realm of blinks
a blur the shape of reality
molds facial expressions
box up the zig-zag collections
…living in almost
just around the corner of what if's
pack up my heart, move on
dry off agony, let my soul shine
read color from black and white
…perfecting poetry one line at a time
is it ever enough?
