ESCAPE
Turning out of the corner of my eye I see,
Two lovers gaze at each other with loving eyes,
A kiss here, a hug there,
Twinges of jealousy as I ever wait and wonder
Just when it will be my turn.
My small hand, smooth and free of a ring,
A small hand never held lovingly,
A virgin’s lip,
Hair never caressed by loving hands;
A body so imperfect,
Oh! How I want to hurt it.
Ears that have never heard the four letter word,
An insatiable hunger and thirst for a love never found.
Perfection whenever I look at my surroundings, and me so imperfect,
Oh! How I wish to escape from this emptiness.
