Real poets earn, poetry
Will I pay gold for my trophy?
Shall my reward be denied for earthly gold?
Are compliments my only reward for my soul
Enticement bestowed upon my vanity
Cost me my honor, the virtue I earned
Does a poet pay for endorsement?
A mere picture typed upon my own wall
A philosophers soul, stoned to be nothing
The words are all the poet owns
Will I give them for credit bought, I own
Your Nemesis slays your dragon
I will not pay for my own words, I bought
To give my all to systems that owns all poetry
Taking of it giving it away for my vanity
My words are all I own
Spreading them among robbers, stealing fruit
Chewing them up as glass, spread among wolves
I will not, have not, did not sale my soul
Give me my reward, credit, I earned poetry
