Beginning of it All : Creative Writing

written by Poet : Teina Hakuto

“You’re making a big mistake, my son,” the Dominion intoned, its face expressionless.  Its voice, though, cannot mask the sadness.

Three figures stood in a desert plain.  The wind blew softly across the sand dunes, sweeping little clouds of dust.  They did not notice it, though, even as they are unaffected by the breeze.  Their hair and clothing remained still as the silence around them.

“I don’t care,” he said. It was indeed a painful decision, as though he was literally, physically split in two. But he’d always seen himself as someone of his word; he couldn’t go back now.  He’d take the consequences, good and bad.  He already made his decision.

“You see? He doesn’t care. So why don’t you lay off him?” the third said with smugness heavily laced in his voice. His lips pulled in a feral smile. “I’m sure this will be quite interesting.”

”You will not have him,” the Dominion said, its face now hardening into a frown. It couldn’t understand why the First Fallen had to be here as well, but somehow, here he was.

“So says I want him?” platinum blond hair was swept haughtily from broad shoulders. A look of contempt crossed his face. “The mere fact that he would choose to live with…humans,” he almost spat the word, “is of no interest for me.”

The smile came back, but this time it looked more beautiful than ever, more menacing. “Oh no, not you, old boy. What I want from you…is your fruit. Your descendants will be mine to choose. Your young mine for the taking.”

“NO!” he cried in despair. His knees almost buckled in sudden weakness. “Take me, take my essence, but not my future children! I beg you!”

Fury etched in a perfect face and his voice became a low growl. “Payment is mine to declare. Your own selfishness caused your own fall, yet I despise your choice to be with a mere mortal woman. And HE is not willing give your desire, but I can and I will. A fair exchange, isn’t it?”

“This cannot be,” the Dominion said, its face now showing slight trepidation.

Laughter, haunting and maniacal, echoed throughout the land.  “And who will stop me? HIM? Ha ha ha!”  Ice blue eyes penetrated the one who was about to faint. “Choose!  You’re already in purgatory anyway!”

He closed his eyes, tears slowly escaping. Ice-cold fear enveloped his heart. And yet… “Forgive me, but I love her,” he whispered.

“DONE!”

He fell down with a cry of pain, his body filled with scorching heat.  His roar reverberated through the whole land as he slowly felt the changes taking place.  All he remembered next was laughter, echoing in his mind.

“Do not forget. Soriel!”

Author's notes: Don't worry, it's still part of the story. A flashback, of sorts. Please, don't hesitate to comment and review! They're like chocolates! ^_^
