“What?” Naika snapped, lifting her binoculars to Kira. She could see that the assassin was beginning to lean over. Kira was going to jump! “Wait! Stop! It’s not part of the plan!”
“Kira!”
Kira slowly leaned over the ledge as her arms lifted up to her sides. Something slid out from her forearms to create an L-shape. In the soft glint of starlight, that something turned out to be sharp blades. Kira did not heed the yell that was in her ear, but merely stepped off the building and fell like a rock, head first.
The air whistled past her ears as she fell. Coming nearer to her target fast, she could now see that with the beads of sweat trickling down the man’s forehead that he was on the verge of climax. His head was thrown back as his pleasure began to overwhelm him. Better and better, she thought as she hurtled through the air, at least he’d die satisfied.
As Kira was near the target, the man opened his eyes. The last thing he saw was a black-clad woman falling down on top of him with her arms swinging across one another.
In one swift movement, she cut off the man’s head with the blades attached to her arms. Twisting in mid-air, she whipped a large piece of cloth that was hidden in her thighs and quickly wrapped in the severed head in it. Kira was only a few stories more before she smashes into the pavement.
“Kira, what the hell are you doing?” Naika fairly shrieked, as her eyes were wide with alarm. The woman was insane! She’ll be seen! She could have screamed more profanities when Chilly placed a firm hand on her arm. “Let’s pack up,” he said in a serious voice. Already he had already placed some of their equipment in their cases. “Mission’s over, Nai. Don’t worry about Kira. She’ll handle herself.” Grumbling, Naika did as she was told, quickly but precisely packing up. They rushed out of their room with their cases as soon as they were done. In the table, a few bills were placed. They didn’t even bother checking out of the hotel where they stayed.
Kira, meanwhile, hung at one of the flagpoles stuck at the side of the building, swaying slowly. Her other hand clutched at the bagged head. She looked down where only a couple of feet more the security guard will see her legs dangling. Placing the heavy cloth between her teeth so it won’t slip, she held onto the pole with both hands and lifted herself up. Like a squirrel skittering up a tree, she began to climb up the windowsills, careful not to be seen. Several stories above her, she could her a piercing scream.
Chilly drove the van in an easy pace, going straight to the rendezvous point, at least four buildings away from the building where their target was. They even paused a bit when they passed by the target building, where a small crowd was already gathering; acting as though they too, were curious. All the time he drove, though, Naika was seething. “What the darn hell was she thinking?” she growled. “Just a few more feet, a few more feet! And she would have been seen. God, every time she does that I get more white hairs from worrying about her, about us! Doesn’t she ever think that-”
“Here she is,” Chilly interrupted.
