Waiting In The Car Thoughts : Giggle Poetry

written by Poet : saltbg4k

Waiting In The Car Thoughts

Forty three years

I’ve lived on this earth

trying to figure out

my value since birth

Don’t know how much time

my stretch has been worth

I know I’ve added

some lard to my girth.

There are moments I’ve wasted

loved ones I’ve lost

at times I’ve paid the price

no matter the cost.

I guess I have won

though I still have to gain

good Lord knows I have been-

through my share of pain.

Yep, my ass is spreading

as I wait in this car

or sit on the stool

at the neighborhood bar.

I can pay my bills

well, most of the time

sometimes I guess

I’m a little behind.

My house is clean

my children are fed

I can manage to keep

a roof overhead.

So much to do

charging through middle age

so I’ll just keep writing

my thoughts to this page.

The end will find me

sooner then I know

and on that I surrender

because I can finally go.
