I am devoted to labor reform.

I am Louisa May Alcott

I have written “Little Women.”

I also contest the injustice of slavery

And promote an equal world for women to live in.

I am Susan B. Anthony

I am proud to be Quaker born.

I believe that failure is impossible

I fight for this nation’s reform.

I am Clara Barton, the teacher,

the nurse, the founder of the Red Cross.

I consider it invaluable for a people

To help those among us throughout great loss.

I am Mary Elizabeth Bowser

Known to many as “Crazy Bet.”

I am a chief spy for the Union Army

Furnishing to Ulysses Grant the information I get.

Though’ I haven’t permission to vote yet.

I am Diana Fletcher, my father was a slave.

My mother, a Seminole, died on “The Trail of Tears.”

I continue to protect my values and history

Instead of conforming to ignorant fears.

I am “Mother” Mary Harris Jones

I lost my family to yellow fever in a weeks time.

Now I have adopted each hard worker in America

I fight for labor reform from the mills to the mine.

I am the daughter of innovative dreams.

I am the sister of this earth.

I am the mother of your opportunity.

I am the grandmother to freedom’s birth.

I am not simply a “Victorian Lady.”

I am a woman who conceives victory.

For if I am victorious in my life,

The world will be improved an eternity.
