what you could put off
till’ tomorrow
when tomorrow never comes?
Why say nothing when you
want to say something
if it’s just going
to sound dumb?
Why be polite
if being pleasant
gets you nowhere
but taken advantage of?
Why fake an orgasm
if the sex was poor
does it suggest
you can’t be in love?
Why say yes
when you want to say no
will you really then
lose your face?
Why give up a dream
unless it’s an illusion
you have not
the desire to chase?
Why tell a young boy
that he shouldn’t cry
will he become
a cowardly man?
Why be the best
that you can be
if you’re doing
the best that you can?
Why participate
and put yourself out
when there are many
already involved?
Why ask why
if you expect no answer
just another question
to be solved?
