What is the cost in support of nations
If the value is in vain,
the weight to carry one more
if our own cannot sustain?
Why offer of our breast succor
the offspring of another,
if our own child starves
nursing barren from its’ mother?
What matter help to fledgling state
when our own citizens lose their nest,
homeless in the “land of the free”
for vacant mission to molest?
Why assure the capacity of their land
while we can’t employ our own?
Why do we keep giving money
if we have naught, but debt to loan?
Why do we offer relief to countries
and provide for medical programs,
if our own public can’t afford health care
and the homeland doesn’t give a damn.
Why support foreign military
when our own must return to wage war?
Because, Uncle Sam turned his back,
he doesn’t want to hear from them anymore.
The Veterans Hospitals are in ruin,
the carcass of World War 11.
The physical and psychological help
administrated by a vaporous crew.
Why are we always on the neighborhood watch
while we leave our own doors open wide?
Someday, we’ll be looking out the back window
and the enemy will just stroll right inside.
