My child may be disabled
But, my child is capable-
Capable of slaying dragons
That most people never see.
Capable of endurance
That is past you and me.
My child views the world
In kaleidoscope shades,
That dance in laughter
To mystical serenades.
And though, my child,
May not understand
Why life has expected
Such challenging demand.
My child does not question
The extra labor expected,
And my child has no need
To become perfected.
Because my child is unique
And has qualities- rare,
With matchless personality
And strength beyond compare.
My child feels no prejudice,
Possesses optimism and trust.
My child does not view the world
As being callus and unjust.
If you ever experience my child’s embrace
You will never hold life the same
Because, you will be offered in one simple hug,
All that is faith-
For you to reclaim.
