It All Began With A Single Letter
The letter A sat alone
in the home of little Nate’s mind.
It was so lonely sitting
by itself all the time.
Then, one by one
more letters came to play.
Then it came to happen
there were 26 one day!
The letters linked themselves
it was a favorite game.
Then suddenly, they noticed
the letters formed a name.
“Nate”
“Wow!” said all the letters,
“This is really great!”
Soon more words were forming
inside little Nate’s head.
He even practiced writing them
before he went to bed.
Next, the letters linked together
until they formed a line.
And little Nate was writing
his own sentence in short time!
Finally, the sentence’s
themselves began to grow.
And what terrific thing happened
next you want to know?
Why, another great project
in little Nate’s brain began to form,
and soon with little Nate’s wit
a paragraph was born.
The first paragraph led to the next
until the page was filled.
And little Nate could not hold back
that he was amazed and thrilled!
