How To Walk Through Sorrow : Death Poetry

written by Poet : saltbg4k

It’s okay to cry…

there was no book to tell you

how to feel when she died.

It’s alright to grieve

I know how much you miss her

after she was called to leave.

It’s not shameful to be mad

nor, if you can’t perceive

how you could ever be glad.

You are not to blame

when you feel the silence

only you, know your pain.

And it’s fine to move on

Andrea lives in your heart

even though she’s gone.

And it’s good to smile

take the time to rejoice

in living, once in a while.

It’s safe to remember her

to reflect on all the happy times

to wish life back to where it were.

It’s fair to put her out of your mind

to push back the memory

so it can settle, confined.

You don’t have to please

do whatever you must

to set your soul at ease.

No one can speak of how to get past

how your sorrow will feel

nor how long it will last.

Your loss is your own

everyone chooses their own path

to find their way home.
