God's Request
One day Saint Peter, asked unto God,
"Why in this reign of glory do I hear the sound of children crying?"
God replied, "They have entered into heaven with the dread of flying.
Though my Kingdom is filled with splendor beyond compare,
the youngest of my flock cannot surpass their fear.
I am in need, my son Peter, of a young person to lead.
I must look down upon earth for someone to honor this deed.
This individual must possess the compassion of an adult
yet, keep the adventure of a childs playful heart.
I require a guide not indimidated of this task
who will labor this cause of them I must ask.
Perhaps, a brother who will foster and inspire
the laughter and enchantment I so desire."
God then, regarded from his throne
for just such a soul to bring to his home.
Then Our Master spied Jason, just doing his chores.
and he said unto Peter, "I need not look anymore.
I found a spirited child who will dare to fly.
Who will buck the clouds, and chase the vast sky.
Who will not falter at what I request, but
summon the strength to perform his best."
So God appealed of Jason in the middle of his task
to stop what he was doing and come as he asked.
Though Jason was saddened to abandon all of you
he knew someday you would know, it's what he had to do.
Jason wrapped his wings around the children who were shy.
He is showing them the rapture of daring the skies.
Toward the sun he drives, replacing fear and doubt,
with Heavens new cowboy, cherubs gleefully shout. Teaching
them to fish upon rainbows and break comets for their steed,
all God's timid angels, now follow Jason's lead.
Hunting new adventure and driving along the thunder,
he is roping the stars, as he revels Heavens wonder.
You will be missed, Jason Teynor lll, but as you
with Gods speed lay gallop to the winds
you carry always, the love and prayers given
from the hearts of your family and friends.
written for the memorial service of Jason, who died in a tractor accident at the age of 14.
