Deliverance
Today I took that step
that I had feared so long
I finished that leap of faith
and my heart cried out in song.
For when I reached abyss
my soul soared the sky
and I touched so much happiness
that I began to cry.
I always thought rainfall
were spilling angel tears
I now know I held the truth
in that thought all those years.
I do not weep in sadness
mine are tears of rapture
in all the time I breathed
this sense I could not capture.
I’m aware each stride taken
since I was born to earth
was to prepare me for eternity
the moment of my soul’s birth.
