Contradiction : Adult Poetry

Contradiction

My children require patience

and mine are lost.

My payees need recompense

for a living that costs.

My future desires imaginings

I can’t seem to dream.

I require a partner

and I’m the only one on my team.

My doctor requests results

this body doesn’t offer.

My cupboards should have food

yet, remain a coffer.

My life wishes time

but, the clock won’t pause.

I perceive I’m confused

though, I don’t no the cause.

My brain wants rest

still, it won’t go to sleep.

I ought to cry

yet, my eyes don’t weep.

I sense that I owe

and my debts keep piling.

I believe I’m depressed

but, my lips stay smiling.
