Alone

She is unyielding

In her stance

Remaining rigid

Her heart won’t dance

No chances taken

To keep her off task

She will not differ

So don’t bother to ask

She is resolute

To be self reliant

That no person could

Discover her pliant

No arms will ever

Hold her imprisoned

To words of passion

She will not listen

She will not permit

Affection draw near

Her eyes won’t dampen

With defeated tears

She has witnessed the damage

Dependence makes

She will not suffer

The same mistakes

She was educated

By her own mom

Who ended her life

When her lover had gone

She will continue to live

As she has always known

Detached from emotion

She will die…

Alone.
