Information-Highway : Adult Poetry

written by Poet : John P

This is my poem and it must be heard,

Once a man on the streets of Philadelphia talking smack in the rhyme of my words.

Outside,
Lunch time, college, its were we all met.

Some talked of life, some spoke of projects, and others talked of dreams of ideas that they hadn't fathomed yet.

We were the pioneers in what was termed "information super highway", and to some our works were considered a fad. Some became part of bigger projects of businesses we readily use everyday: Paypal, Blogger, Google, Ebay, and many others, this online fad suddenly became the way.

Some knew when to invest in their ideas and others wanted to follow the coat tails of others, and yet didn't believe it could happen.

Some learned so much from texts they read, others learned from the expansion of people and life instead.

This was college for some and a starting point and ending point for others.

We had close friends that we lost over summer apart, allergic reactions, accidents, suicide, relocation and whatever else we at some point must part.

Some drank to enjoy while others escaped, forgetting vows of friendship, harsh words and crudeness lies friendships break.

An escape for escaping sometimes we delete, some shift, some enter, some backspace, while others continue.

When I look back from memory I see various shades of grey, and with bright reds and yellows shining through. Still looking back, still looking forward.
