Wishes In Helium Balloons : Friendship Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Is there life on the dark side of the moon and is there a space in between .

Maybe life would be better up there ,  if no one cares , you know what I mean .

I’m just like a helium balloon : if you let go of me I am gone .

I will drift to the moon and beyond , to a place where balloons carry on .

I’ll just disappear and if I burst you won’t hear , there’s nothing more to say .

I’ll float through the air about a million miles , If our friendships blown away.

There is no return from the dark spaces on the other side of the moon .

You will never see again , the person who was a helium balloon.

Maybe the man who sells helium balloons will say to you with a grin ,
“You know they fly to the moon  If you want to wish upon the wind.”

And you might even buy a red one from him on a wild and windy day .
where it could rise about a million miles if you’ve anything left to say .

Into the sky it will go higher and higher floating on to the moon ,

Who knows I wonder maybe wishes come true on a helium balloon.
