They took him prisoner and made him stand and strip .
His back was not shielded from the strokes of their whip .
His hands were tied .
He was not permitted to sit .
They did not let him eat .
They did not let him sip .
See he is the soldier the one that they forgot .
Tortured then but at peace now .
He has had his lot .
Sent away with a blindfold and then he was shot
Hundreds of good soldiers all buried in one plot .
When the end comes only then can their life begin .
They died for something and someone they believed in .
