There's a girl in the sheltered workshop
Who always does what she is told .
The supervisors stand over her
And tell her to shut up and fold .
I thought to myself in these workshops
Its either their way or you're out ,
Its difficult to work with those
Who like to hear themselves scream and shout .
I said to the girl in the workshop
There are other places to work ,
Where people will respect who you are
And you'll not be treated like dirt .
She was surprised and relieved to know
That there were other places there
Where being disabled meant you could work
As well as be treated fair .
The problem with some employers
Is that they go on a power trip ,
Abusing those in their care ,
And think that they can get away with it .
