I never saw it coming but it did .
When I looked in her eye she closed the lid .
I kissed her cold cheek as she lay there still .
I gazed at her face and felt a cold chill .
Something was coming I could feel that there .
She looked through me with a far away stare .
She said I'm leaving you and then she fled .
The walls came falling down upon my head .
In the shadows a face stared back at me .
She looked far away from reality .
The touch of her hand was as cold as ice ,
Her voice an artic wind cut like a knife .
Bitterly it blew all around my home .
She walked out the door and I was alone .
Tears dropped down on the place where she had trod .
Was it her madness or an act of God.
The kids ran after her screaming come back .
My heart broke and my nerves about to crack .
The kids looked at me but what could I say .
Nothing except your Mum has gone away .
