The Seven Ages Of Christmas : Inspirational Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Cuddles from the cradle , knocks upon the door .
Christ the child has come don't worry anymore .
Follow in the light and truth will show the way .
A new age began on that first Christmas day .
Crying out for nourishment that love must bring ,
A baby survives almost everything .
What does an infant expect Christmas to be ?
We are blind to it all then one day we see .
Children are just like stars see how bright they shine ,
Its a special magic found at Christmas time .
Cast your mind back , remember how it was,
When you wrote your letters to Santa Clause .
The innocent gift only children see .
A wonder so bright round the Christmas tree ,
Fairy lights twinkling inside little eyes ,
Wrapped up in the tinsel innocence survives .
In an age when its hard to face up to truth
Why must we eat the pudding then ask for proof .
Under the mistletoe Christmas embraces us
before love races away youthful faces .
Middle age spreads itself well at Christmas time ,
The turkey is always better with white wine .
In a blink of an eye Christmas can unfold ,
The age of reality that we are old .
As we look back at our life we have a cry .
Its time for our last Christmas before we die .
We become little children helpless are we ,
Sitting in an armchair by the Christmas tree .
