School holidays are over and its back to school again .
I'm the bus driver and old cranky is my middle name
The kids are never bad or so their parents say and add ,
They're so well behaved and a credit to their Mum and Dad.
At times there are always some kids that try to drive you mad , and though it's a bit of a nightmare its not all that bad .
Once you get to know all the kids they're all really pretty cool.
I listen to their stories as I drive them all to school .
In amongst the screams you'll hear the things that they like to do .
There's John who plays baseball with Jack who is disabled too .
Or there's Sally who reminds me how much see hates my shirt .
Then last minute Luke who in the back seat does his homework .
They all have a say on the bus and respond to hellos .
Jules loves rock and roll music and shares all the songs he knows .
Because she is so shy Kate can't communicate that well .
But that's not the case for Debbie , Adam , Amy and Del .
They like to share stories with everybody on the bus .
They always have a few new funny jokes for all of us .
Its nice to hear them speak about the simple things each week .
But I'm just old cranky who listens to them as they speak .
As I pull up at the school gate I say ,
" Now off you go " .
There's a hard lot on the bus but easy to get to know .
