The Dish Pig : Music Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

It’s lonely by the sink and you’re not allowed to think when you’re stuck in a solo scrubbers gig  , the only thing you hear are voices in your ear .

Its always the same when you’re a dish pig :

You’re in the same old spot with some dirty cooking pot with residue so thick you have to get in and dig and all the time you scrub you feel like just a grub does anybody care for the dish pig ?

It’s a sharp knife or hot pan  , coming up behind you man  .

Washing up night and day just  scraping a weekly pay ,

Hey with sponges and steel wool ,you’ve got to keep cool when you’re a dish pig .

So you rinse out every cup , as mountains all pile up and you pay for all the breakages that drop on the floor , then comes plate after plate and a heavy greasy grate and water just can’t cut it anymore .

It’s a sharp knife or hot pan  , coming up behind you man  , washing up night and day , just scraping a weekly pay .

Hey with sponges and steel wool , you’ve got to keep cool when you’re a dish pig .

It’s lonely by the sink and you’re not allowed to think when you’re stuck in a solo scrubbers gig  , the only thing you hear are voices in your ear .
