I walked through the valley of darkness ,

But you took by the hand and protected me ,

I trusted that you would not forsake me ,

To be left defenceless with my enemy .

Your sunshine it lit up all the valley ,

and I felt a warm glow inside of me ,

The dark night of my soul it had left now ,

And for the first moment I felt I was free .

From the mountain to the sea I did wander ,

meeting you on the journey on the paths ,

Time after time  you came in the sunshine ,

Confirming God's love will eternally last ,

Such love is a living faith that I found ,

To be part of life in the spiritual   ,

Such love can bring down mighty rulers ,

and raise up Kings from the gentle who are humble .
