At St Gabes we stood up tall success for all the call .
So happy to be present
To do and to teach them all-
Though the roll book is closed now our memories
never die ,
from each side of the Crumlin Road ,
we've come to say goodbye .
Saint Gabriels your playgrounds quiet now at last
and the way of life has
Changed so much in the streets around Belfast -
Guided by the spirit our
hope will never end ,
St Gabriels the old school you'll always be our friend .
We've passed the ball success for all is where we are today
Now's the time
to say goodbye with tears in our eye ,
our school's no more they've closed
the door -
But a new day has dawned and the message is strong
for the future and the peace to live on and on .
Thanks for all the teachers who made it all worthwhile ,
leaving St Gabriels –doing it in style .
and when ever we look back , I hope it makes some sense ,
St Gabriels life with you was an experience
