Starting Kindergarten : Childrens Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

It really does amaze me how quickly children grow .

Floating down stream, you could say ,
Its hard to let them go.

Now this is the first time
my small child will leave the home .

He's starting Kindergarten  ,
and I'm left home alone .

They say don't worry yourself ,
your kids are in good hands .

Kindergarten can handle
all the constant demands .

Catering for nervous conditions ,
requires a skill .

There's a way if you allow others to do your will .

I'll leave him at Kindergarten where he has to be  ,

to begin his school life somehow confidently free .

There are toys for girls and boys ,
games to play ,
songs to sing ,
picture puzzles ,
building blocks ,
even finger painting .

Kids live in a dream,
with big days in a little boat .
There is a place for my child to hang his hat and coat .

So I must allow my child to float down stream at play ,

for its a big world out there and he must find his way .
The treasure of these days are memories .

Precious things .

God bless kindergarten kids ,
they're angels without wings .
