Don't put them down like slime inside a paper cup.
Don't give them time to rhyme and ask them to shut up .
Don't put them on a broom and say sweep up the town ,
Don't you think it stinks when skid kids get knocked around .
Don't you understand you're not half the man they are .
Don't knock them down like ten pins in a small glass jar .
Don't throw stones or break their bones as they crawl away .
Don't you know that fragile is all sides up today . Don't pack them in the too hard box you want to hide .
Don't you know kids are things you just can't leave outside .
Don't place photos on the fridge keep them in your heart ,
Don't light candles in the house after they depart .
Don't stamp your authority on their lonely face ,
Don't spread inhumanity in the human race .
Don't abuse the bruise unless you can take the blame,
for making skid kids live in shadows of your shame .
