My friend was an Arab before the wall went up.
He’s still an Arab but we don’t see each other at all.
Borders and boundaries surround us.
We have our armies that protect us from insurgents and missiles that fall.
In Israel they’ve built a wall between the Jews and the Arabs,
And on different sides the kids can play ball.
One day they took buckets of paint and they painted a scene of what it could
have looked like if there was no wall.
Expressions splashed around the boundaries of Jerusalem;
Aren’t we all one tribe of Abraham after all?
