Peace Will Surely Come : Narrative Poetry

They are talking peace,
may it never cease.
There's talk here and there,
What is the answer?
Is it found in prayer?
Is it surrender?
Let them listen hard
Never disregard
All of the lives lost.
Who can count the cost?

They are talking peace.
It is a relief.
Read between the lines
The signs of the times
Are a living proof
Of the only truth
That can't be denied,
that many have died
Many more shall live
If we can forgive.

They are talking peace.
There is a belief
That trust will win out
We can talk, don't shout.
We can walk as one.
We can overcome
What hatred can do.
And our problems too
Will be solved for good.
It is understood
Our difference was
Someone else's laws.

They are talking peace
Media's release,
It is on the air .
It's in the paper.
Let's open an ear;
Let's reject the fear.
There is hope at last
the war it has past.
The fight is no more.
It's the end to war.

They are talking peace.
Put your mind at ease.
Try hard to listen.
Pray for the mission.
Ask for the vision
and for fruition
to understanding
and peaceful handling
for justice to come.
So let it be done.

They are talking peace.
Let's fall to our knees,
Let the healing flow,
Let the people know
that peace has restored
An opening door,
With in roads to where
we can start to care,
And then day by day
peace will come to stay.
