No Waiting Rooms : Sad Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Treating wounds in the battlefield of an afternoon
As the doctor says, "In war there is no waiting room."
No pity for the soldiers who sit their looking glum,
Suffering in silence with their hand holding a gun.
They're out of the action while the battle is waiting.
The sick have to pay and the cost is elevating.
The doctor tells the soldier, "It's ok to be sick.
It's ok to bleed because a soldier's blood is thick.
Crazy as it may be there is a war going on.
Recover or follow to where the fallen have gone."
So soldiers sit and wait for the healing to begin.
The comforts of war are few but we know we can win.
There are many reasons why so many of us bleed.

Victory in the end will be ours.
It's all agreed.
