I can remember Fred when we were younger back then
We had some good times and I was glad to have a friend .
Crusing in our done up cars around the neighbourhood .
We had a way of making one another look good .
I'll treasure his friendship always and all that we done .
Sometimes in life you can find a friend ,
Well Fred was one .
I'm glad I knew him long before he went out of sight .
Fred was one of those who somehow tried to make things things right .
He was quick to send a smile or lend a helping hand .
He cared about me when no one else could understand .
I'm happy to say I have known some one like
Fred .
I never got to say goodbye to him
Now he's dead .
But in my heart I remember him just as he was .
My old friend Fred and I ,
together we bent the laws .
