Mother Teddy and Me : Mother Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Mother said to me I'll always be there ,

And then she handed me a Teddy bear .

The next I knew I was put in a cot ,

My Mother seemed to be busy a lot .

So  Teddy and I began to explore

The world inside a cot upon the floor ,

Then Mother took us and tucked us in  bed

We are very attached , me and my Ted .

I'm proud of my Mum and Teddy I am .

Some days Mother takes us out in a pram

For a walk in the park and some fresh  air .

Inseparable together everywhere .

Mother Ted and I catch up between naps ,

making special moments captured in snaps .

I'm happy with life so far and I've grown .

With Mum and Ted in a comfortable home ,

The years have passed and Mother said to me

" Don't you think you should give up that Teddy .

After all you'll be getting married next week

And what if she hears you and Teddy speak  ?

She might think it's strange on the wedding night

If Teddy and you hug each other tight

So leave Teddy with me "

My Mother said .

And I said ok and kissed Teddy's head .

I gave Teddy to Mum and said goodbye .

As my Mother wiped the tears from my eye  .

I said I do and everything was right .

Oh how we danced on our honeymoon night ,

When my wife and I had kids of our own  ,

I found another Teddy had come home .
