Listen To Your Mother : Mother Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

I could always tell how my Mother was

if she clenched her fist .

Sometimes she even turned into a ventriloquist .

"Hello Mrs Doherty . (Under her Breath )Stand still .

 She'd say .

(under her breath) Wait till I get you home .

Then we'd walk away ,

There would be some threats between words like ,

"I can't take you anywhere .

I've just about had enough of you and she'd give me a stare .

She'd pull my hair and say ,

"Look at the dirt in your ears "

 I'd  laugh .

Just think about it ,

You'd need to have a neck like a giraffe .

Then she'd say ,

"I'll put a smile on the other side of your face ."

 Or

"If you want to stay here you better get out of this place. "

There's going to be changes mark my words ,

I'm talking to you  .
It is going to stop if I have to beat you black and blue

I'm sick of the fighting and if it doesn't stop I'll kill you ."

 God bless our Mothers .

They've loved us and helped us to make it through .
