Hundreds of horses went to Hong Kong for an Olympic show .
Some were grey and others were bay and one was Quando Quando .
The riders from many countries had skill of a high degree .
There were Germans and British and one by the name of Kristy .
Kristy was an Australian but moved to live in Germany .
She and her horse Quando Quando , came to show their quality .
Over each fence they jumped higher , they turned tighter and wider .
The understanding was so strong between the horse and rider .
Kristy Oatley and Quando Quando together were faultless .
Their quite way was something that any one would think was bliss .
Until the hush was shattered by aircraft noises overhead .
Then fate on the ride stopped them in their stride and faults were relayed .
Both lady and horse were tackling the course in a good time it seemed .
Then overhead was heard the sound of jets again as they screamed .
The drenching of concentration , seemed to surface in the runs .
Like the lazy leg approaching a fence that nervously comes .
So at the end Kristy and Quando Quando received their mark .
Glowing with pride and unseen ember of the Olympic spark .
There was more than an understanding in their heart to be heard .
Their beauty was a partnership ,difficult to put in words .
They had pride in what they achieved together on that day .
Kristy and Quando Quando , along the equestrian way .
