These strange looking plants I found growing in the garden nobody knew .
The species was a mystery .
God only knows how they ever grew .
It's quite possible the seeds were sewn by wild birds some people said .
But no,
there were just too many of them,
scattered around the garden bed .
Then it was just by chance,
one morning I found out what was going on .
Pay attention and I'll tell you .
I really thought my mind was gone !
As I rubbed the sleep away from my eyes
and looked at the early dawn ,
there it was ,
as large as life .
This spaceship that had landed on the lawn .
Out came these two headed beings with green fingers ,
and huge web like feet .
They picked some of my roses
and then they sat down and began to eat.
One of them began to wave at me.
I opened the window,
and said ,
" Fancy a cup of tea?"
With a wink and a grin and a nod of the head.
Over they came chewing roses and spitting thorns with their eyes aglow ,
I said ,
"It's a strange time to visit and a weird way to say hello.
So these strange plants around my garden then ,
are from your home in the sky?"
They said ,
"Our mission on Earth
is to try and grow plants that never die"
Suddenly a strange purple mist fell down ,
and in a flash they were gone .
The spaceship blasted off,
leaving a scorch mark all across my front lawn .
I stood there speechless and stunned ,
thinking no one will ever believe me .
So I went back inside the house ,
and poured myself a strong cup of tea .
