In The Land Of Reflux : Mother Poetry

written by Writer : Paul McCann

Once upon a time when  Mother read a nursery rhyme

Life was like a dream feeding free from the reflux crime .

But along came the thing that made babies cry and cling ,

While the Mothers role  became the puppet on a string .

You  know when you're alive when post natal drives you wild

And feeding times are a frenzy with a reflux child .

When there's no weight and no gain, there's no way you're to blame,

And all the baby ever does is scream out in pain .

All the sleep that you've missed as well as the bonding bliss,

My Mama never told me there would be days like this .

The cradle is rocking and it really is shocking,

When your baby  can't deposit the dread unblocking .

The spirit is able but the flesh is unable,

Tell the world that reflux  is not a childhood fable.
