Nadine's as quiet as a secret that's not clear
and the smell of horse dungs thick in the air .
The clock in the stable ticks away
And all the other hands are all asleep except for her .
Its almost stable time for the big mare and
already Nadine's nerves have begun to stir .
There's loud snoring and she's ignoring the mice
that's chewing on a rope in the corner there .
Hanging on tender hooks are the straps
along with some of the big hopes the stud have in mind .
Nadine washes down the mare as the foal gets to its feet
At last nerves begin to unwind .
Nadine makes a call and the stable secret is out .
The other hands are now all awake .
Stable time and there's sacks of feed and stacks of hay .
But what a difference a night can make .
