In Grandmas Stride : Family Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

My grandma was an old woman who was vey quick with her whit .

At 77 years of age she rarely let a thing slip .

She'd take what was said , then cut you in two, with the edge of her tongue .

She had a sense of humour that kept her feeling happy and young .

Many had said she was positively aging in her own way .

So if you ever came across her you just might have heard her say .

I'm 77 and let me tell you the kind of shape I'm in .

My brain gym stimulates me and my mind is as sharp as a pin .

So say what you mean, if you know what I mean and mean what you say .

I might look like an old woman ,but don't let that get in the way .

My grandma took life in her stride  , she never let it get ahead .

Unable to get in a wheelchair, she was confined to a bed .
