In America Today : Modern Poetry

Its 2008 , economically and environmentally  there's so much needs to be done .   

There's an election in America and all over the world  many wars are being fought and won .

Past generations have past .
Early years and pioneers have laid the foundations we all walk upon .

Stardust is golden but all the hippies have gone
and new generations have made hay while the sun shone . 

Debt and greed have eroded the gift of creation and the leaders of every nation on Earth know .

So they meet and try to seek new ways of fixing up all the major problems we face as they go .     

Today in America technology and transportation ,
is the communication we hear .

While provocation over fuel and energy has engaged in a debate that is never that clear .

We have retaliation with no explanations .
That's the fast pace of the life that we live here today .

The  president is getting ready to leave his office and a new one will move in to carry on .

In America we might have the time to blink
but then again one blink and it just might all be gone .

The world is a fragile place and the human race must try to survive .  That is the American way .

In God we trust and we know that the right man will get the presidents  job  ,   in America today .
