He was hit with a car on the side of the road ,
And lay there unconscious until ,
A helicopter came and took him there
through the sky to the city hospital .
For ten months he lay still and quiet ,
In and out of his body tubes had been dropped .
They were going to turn off the life support on him .
But that procedure was stopped .
Just like a miracle he recovered
And it wasn't long before he was home .
Where changes had been made
To accommodate his needs and the new life that he owned .
They said he will not get better
And that now his rehab has come to a plateau
He can't get around without a wheelchair ,
but there's always a different place to go .
He always says that he is lucky ,
And as far a life goes he has quality .
He likes colouring pictures ,
He does jig saws in his chair as he watches TV.
He has many friends that visit him ,
And everyone knows he's a real well liked guy .
He has mobility in his house and garden,
And wheelchairs give him wings to fly .
