Hard Times And False Teeth : Narrative Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

When you're doing it tough and you haven't enough  ,

To pay the cost for a dentist to help  .

If you're not insured something's must be endured

And there's nothing like pain to knock in your melt  .

Like the holes in your molars down on raw nerves and gums,

Then your face swells up like a balloon ,

You keep reminding  yourself that big boys don't cry

and the pain you feel will  pass by real soon .

Then as days go by you find that the pain gets worse

and other teeth are abandoning you ,

In a matter of time. you have to draw the line  and say ,

there's no more fat that I can chew .

Ask your loved ones and friends,

Have you money to lend for I need some false teeth to talk to you

Its really no joke when you're down and stony broke ,

And all of your teeth are falling out too

God willing for a shilling or two

I'll get dentures and my mouth will be feeling brand new .
