When the 29th Olympics was over and done
China's tally of gold medals numbered fifty one .
After the gold rush came the silver and bronze as well .
With one hundred as the total at the final bell .
To see so many faces with confidence agleam .
As a unit they've proved themselves a worthy team .
Tested at each level and in the end they came good .
They gave the world entertainment like nobody could .
With each day they left us memories to build on .
Visions of the forbidden city are never gone .
Encouraged by their efforts , we all became a fan .
Their technique and skill had was part of a master plan
China's golden dynasty made a historic bid .
Sitting on top of the ladder proud of what they did .
