Forgiving A Father : Relationship Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

I hope you're never left out in the cold ,

Whatever you do don't ever get old.

Well get old if you must but don't get sick .

When you get sick people give you the flick .

I hope that you're memory lingers on .

Whatever you do don't say that its gone .

I hope that there's someone to shed some light ,

If you ride a bike in the dark of night .

I hope you don't find a lonely old place ,

Whatever you do don't be a nut case .

And remember my son  don't be a bore .

When you're mad as hell and can't take no more .

I hope you're loved when you've given it all .

Sometimes in life we can all take a fall .

I hope if you fall you don't break your heart.

If you do then try and make a new start .

I hope you don't turn love away the other way .

If you do there's one last thing I will say .

Whatever you do don't end up like me

Old and bitter , not wanting to agree
