Floating In Little Boats : Childrens Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

It really does amaze me how quickly children grow .
Floating down stream, you could say ,
Its hard to let them go.
Now this is the first time
my small child will leave the home .
While he is at pre-school ,
I'm left to feel so alone .
They say don't worry yourself ,
the kids are in good hands .
Pre-schools have learnt to handle
all the parents demands .
Catering for nervous conditions ,
requires a skill .
There's a way if you allow others to do your will .
So each day I bring my child to pre-school I can see ,
a special place where their lives can be happy and free .
There are toys for girls and boys ,
games to play ,
songs to sing ,
picture puzzles ,
building blocks ,
even finger painting .
Kids live in a dream,
with big days in a little boat .
There is a place for my child to hang his hat and coat .
So I must allow my child to float down stream at play ,
for its a big world out there and he must find his way .
The treasure of these days are memories .
Precious things .
God bless all our pre-school kids ,
they're angels without wings .
