Distances : Divorce Poetry

written by Poet : Paul McCann

Distances

The streets of the city are cold and have no pity as I walk on the

sidewalks alone

and all that I see in the silence is the distance between us and I am far from home .

I escape where white lines seem to stretch out forever

to the waves that crash down from above

and no one hears a sound as I call out your name standing there  on the empty shores of love .

In the distance I see there are mountains to climb and the thoughts keep running through my mind and I can’t say goodbye no matter where I go , as the miles between us continue to roll by .

Is it any wonder I want to fly high up above it all like a bird up in the

Sky.

I hear thunder and rain as the pain disappears in the distance where all my heartaches lie  .

I walk away in the distance so no sees me cry .

I look far away to the sea

I ask myself why did you do the things you did

There is a distance between you and me  .
