Days Of Enchantment
By Paul McCann
Fairies dwell under the enchantment .
Neither here or there they have been sent .
I had become enchanted myself ,
When as a child I was dressed in wealth .
The wealth of innocence made me shine ,
I could see hidden things that were mine .
They’re all around us everyday ,
where fairies and children often play .
Enchanted we can fly here and there .
Enchanted and we’re walking on air .
Enchanted within realms of light .
Enchanted you must keep out of sight .
When fairies dance through enchanted rooms
With children who spent their afternoons
riding on horses out on the tide
with innocence saddled at their side .
As children grow the enchantment ends
But fairies are still those absent friends .
They’re still around us everywhere
But our innocence has been stripped bare .
The wings that brought our enchanted shine
have been clipped back by the hands of time .
But I still remember well those days
When we were happy in many ways .
