This lucky little cricket leapt across the floor .
It landed near the window then jumped out the door .
Later on that evening I heard it hum outside .
It sounded so lost and lonely I almost cried .
When I opened up the door guess who met me there ,
my little friend the cricket jumping here and there ,
I went to garb my slippers then my overcoat ,
Outside sat the cricket on a ten dollar note .
