The station is all dust and dirt and
there's lots of work to be done there .
It's as hot as hell in the bush
with blow flies and mossies in the air .
Sheep need dipped and fences need fixed but it's Christmas here on the property and time to take stock before the wet season comes in January .
He dares not think of stopping work yet , for its still too early for that .
But Santa's on his way soon and
the Jackeroo must hang up his hat .
Time to sit down inside the old bark hut and wait for Santa to come .
With sacks of things for the Jackeroo who's holidays have just begun .
So he puts up the feet and he leaves the sheep to find their own way home .
Yes its Christmas for the Jackeroo
and he spends it there all alone .
He has seven thousand acres of land
most of which is flat and dry .
At Christmas in the night time Santas sleigh
is clearly seen in the sky .
The Jackeroo lives a lonely life
and his thoughts run away sometimes .
The real wonder of it all is that
his state of mind never declines .
He makes time for things that matter like the
nuts and bolts that keep him right .
Childhood innocence returns
to the Jackeroo
on Christmas Eve's night .
